Have you ever smiled at someone and they smiled back? Has anyone ever smiled at you and it made you feel good? Sometimes passing by a complete stranger and giving them a smile or them giving you a smile makes either person feel good. I feel that this is something everyone needs especially if a person is going through something or if they just need uplifting. Sometimes the littlest things count including just a simple smile. Of course not everyone will feel that way, but it's worth a try. I know I get that nice feeling when a stranger passes by me and smiles because it really just brightens up my day. :) So try it and give someone a smile.

02.1.12 - The Lorax.. Pink Tree explained..

Hey guys. for the past month or so, I discovered a pink tree outside of my office door. My co-workers and I didn't know what it was but assumed that it was related to Dr. Seuss. Well, looks like recently a poster of a new upcoming movie was posted called "The Lorax." This pink tree is actually featured in that movie and it is in fact a Dr. Seuss film. This prop was used when Danny DeVito was doing the introduction for the movie.

I took some photos of the tree since it is still in my office at this moment. Hehe..

Hello everyone!

It's not everyday that you'll see something unique, fun, and exciting! Last year, I had an opportunity to cover this amazing experience. Have you ever seen those James Bond type of gadgets? Well imagine seeing an actual Jet Pack that can make you fly! :) I had gone to Newport Beach last year to witness a person soar through the air with a Jet Pack. It is called "JetLev," abbreviated for Jet Levitation. Looks like theres about 10 at the moment that are available in different parts of the world. The source of it's power is actually from a JetSki that has been modified. Tubes are harnessed to the actual Jet Pack itself that releases tons and tons of water power. Raymond Li is the developer of this awesome breakthrough!

JetLev has released it's jet pack throughout different locations such as Lake Havasu, Arizona, Nevada, Hawaii and Florida in the U.S., and in Germany and Singapore internationally.

01.18.12 - IMATS 2011

Hey guys,

I know I haven't written about IMATS in depth but I just wanted to acknowledge that part of production is definitely the art of makeup. I had gone to the International Makeup Artist Trade Show in Pasadena on June 25-26, 2011. It was one of the most interesting conventions that I've been to. They offer a variety of makeup in different brands and also features many ways of utilizing it. Not sure if I had mention that correctly but makeup really creates something artistic to the extent of regular daily makeup. It's quite exciting for me since they even had special effects makeup creating different creatures including monsters, and some just went out of their way creatively. Here are a few photos taken by me at the event:

Not only that I've seen different creatures but I also bumped into many familiar beauty vloggers from YouTube. :D I got to meet Josh (Petrilude), Judy (Itsjudytime), Jarmaine (Jlovesmac), and even Kandee Johnson. Kandee is one of the sweetest people I've ever met. As you can see in the photo, she was genuinely sweet and really wants to meet her fans. :) During that moment, I had told her, "I'm not leaving until I meet Kandee Johnson!" Then she replied, "Well you're not leaving until I meet you!" :) Hehe.. Just a really sweet moment. She has been a true inspiration to so many, even those who aren't beauty gurus/vloggers.

Anyway, I wanted to thank my friend Lindsey for letting me know about this event. If she didn't tell me about it I wouldn't have known. Here are my friends Lindsey (left) and Christina (right) at IMATS.

01.18.12 - Stop SOPA!

Greetings everyone,

I just wanted to write about something important. Looks like there's a bill going around lately called (SOPA) Stop Online Piracy Act. This bill will cause the censorship of the internet which may shut down social networking sites, blogs, search engines, etc.. This will also mean that people who would like to express themselves creatively will not have the opportunity to share their work to others as well as to inspire and reach out to people. I support the fight of online piracy but, I'm sure there's another way to handle the situation instead of disabling of the internet which caused millions of jobs for Americans and others.

Thousands of websites like Google and Wikipedia had blacked out their websites warning of the dangers of the legislation and pushing people to contact their congressional representatives.

The voting of The Senate will commence on January 24. Let's let them know how we feel and sign the petition on Google.

12.11.11 - Behind The Video - De-Grudge

Hi guys! De-Grudge was probably one of the exciting videos I created for my channel. The inspiration for the video came from my love of Sarah Michelle Gellar. She was always casted in horror films and The Grudge was probably one of the most unique horror films she's ever done. In asian culture, the focus of horror films are mainly spiritual. I agree because there are a lot of supernatural things in the Philippines also, where I came from. Anyway, this video was really fun creating because it's a mini production. Even though it's a small production, it was really challenging to create and a lot of work.

The house was carved from a box that I had. I tried getting details from the actual movie if not exact. I painted it white from our already existing paint and I covered the windows with this plastic sheet I cut off from a packaging of underwear. :P Haha! You heard right. But overall, looks like the miniature house went well. Since I didn't have professional lighting at that time, I just relied on our lamp, umbrella, and tin foil that I had in the kitchen. The shoji screen was moved several times around the house since that's all I had. You will find this in the hallway, the outside, and my bedroom.

I tried to make the set as interesting as possible and to make it look like I'm actually in Japan. hehe.. The only items I had were the standing and hanging shoji lamp, the display of the Japanese artwork on the wall of a woman, bamboos, and the divider. Here are some photos I took of my little set.

Haha! My story for the make-up of De-Grudge. Make-up was from a local Party store called Alin Party. It's just basic white halloween make-up you can find at a local party or halloween store. The dark circles under my eyes was just charcoal from a local art store. Yes, I didn't have much of the big makeup then. You gotta improvise with what you have right? And hey, they work! The wig, I purchased from a local swap meet and you guys probably know that I used this wig several times in other videos.

12.4.11 - Set Design & Extra Videos

Hello everyone!

From now on I may be placing short extra behind the videos here on my blog. Unlike the one on my ItsCreativeSoul channel on YouTube and the extra videos here that has nothing to do with the xCreativexSoulx videos, the forthcoming videos will just be a short, brief scan of behind the scenes. Thought It'd be nice just to put just an itty bitty extra on that. :) Also for me, set design would be interesting to share here for those who actually want to see how I put my set together for different videos. And it's also for plain fun! :D I was always fascinated by movie set designs so I thought It'd be great to share that too.

So I finally had the chance to film a little bit earlier. :) I had attached some photos from the set! hehe.. So I created my own little hospital here. Haha! Not very authentic but It'll probably do for what I'm trying to create. :P Just glad that I had the chance to film earlier today and blog about it now. It's about 11:43 p.m. and I may need to crash soon.. hehe But for those waiting, the upcoming video will be released soon. And then some.. ;) Anyway, be keeping you posted! Ok guys, have you ever dropped your phone on an accident in water? It could be the sink, tub, and eek, toilet? Well, there is this saying that once you drop your phone in water, there is a chance you can actually save it and make it work! I'm not sure what percentage of the time you can actually save the soaked device but I had read a remedy about this and was confirmed by a few Facebook friends that you can make it happen. Here's a little video I created to see what I did. If I wasn't clumsy enough then I wouldn't be able to make this video. Haha.. Ok, that was dumb! But hope you find this useful.

Hey everyone! If you guys would like to know, a lot of my characters wear MAC eye shadows especially for TFS (The Filipino Soap.) I wanted to share this randomly because today, I will be at IMATS (International Makeup Artist Tradeshow.) I'm really excited because, it isn't only about beauty make up but, also for special effects make up. I'm really excited! I'm sort of wondering if I will see Kandee Johnson there. She's one of the top make up gurus in YouTube. I'm sure Petrilude is going to be there since he mentioned this on his Vlog. He's another YouTuber that does make up. He only experimented and is now a professional. Anyway, I will try my best to take pictures if the event allows me. I will possibly share this as a vlog on my channel on xcreativexsoulx. Hey guys! It's really exciting being on the set and taking pics. I guess I was telling myself to be more active and post more extras and behind the scenes here. Some of you may already know the drill. Well, I'm still currently trying to finish the new Paro-Film that will be released sometime soon. Hello everyone!

Merry, Merry Christmas to you all! Haha! I know I'm a bit late but it's still, in fact, the Holiday Season. New Year hasn't begun yet. :) Anyway, hope everybody had a blessed, wonderful Christmas. Well, I just wanted to let you guys know I started a series of Vlogs called Instant Photobooth Vlog. Photobooth is a program that came with my Macbook Pro. With this program, it's pretty fast and easy for me to do quick vlogs without having to whip out the HD camera. Since my computer already has a built in cam and video editor, it's quick for me to do little announcements and just for me to say "Hi" to you guys! Anyway be well for the rest of the season and will be seeing you guys again, next year!

Sleepover 5 & Effects

Hehe.. Only the true readers of my blog would find out that the Sleepover 5 video will be released soon. I was able to finally gather the girls hence their hectic schedules. Again, the soon to be released vid has new animated text and graphics by using After Effects. They're just a simple introduction but I guess it works well. I was also able to use Photoshop images in 3D space. Just like the image below, I was able to use the Facebook status scene using 3D.

At this moment, I'm still figuring out how the Sleepover logo would appear. For now, the logo iteslf has feathered edges to make it more of an interesting look prior to the older Sleepover videos, which had flat edges. :) I'm also trying to work on transitions. Still adjusting to Premiere and After Effects. So far, I'm getting a hang of Premiere so it's all good. :)

I still have one more scene to record but since I've been busy with Christmas shopping, I had to put that off on the side. Anyway, have a HAPPY HOLIDAYS! And make it a safe one! God bless to you all! Thank you for reading and watching!!

Adobe CS5 for CreativeSoul videos

As soon as I purchased my Adobe CS5 Suite, an ad or two started popping up on my YouTube channel on xcreativexsoulx. :)

Hehe, just wanted to share with you guys how powerful and great these programs are. I had currently switched to Adobe Premiere as my video editor since my Sony Vegas sometimes couldn't handle large files and I thought it was time for an upgrade. I was also excited to announce that I was able to create a few effects using After Effects. The first video that I tested it on was for my video on TFS (The Filipino Soap part7).

I was able to trigger some smoke effects there. A behind the scene for that video was I had to cover the chair and my Macbook for the outside scene, where the Mom was washing the clothes by hand. You know, they wouldn't have such technology there especially for those type of areas. And recently I had used that for another episode of TFS, called "Revenge." I was able to create fire and explosion for certain scenes using After Effects! Quite epic! The CS5 suite contains, After Effects, Adobe Premiere for video editing, Photoshop, and Illustrator, Encore, Flash, and Sound Booth. It's a great deal especially having Photoshop and Illustrator. This is great for graphic/video designer/editors.

Anyway, that's all I'm blogging for now. Just wanted to share the recent haps on the possibilities on the CreativeSoul videos. You can let your imagination wild and just be free to express yourself and start creating!! And it's always fun!! hehe.. Thanks for tuning in readers!

It's not everytime we get to meet somebody known/famous. I just wanted to share with you guys that a few months ago, I was able to get the chance to meet Jessica Rose. She is the pioneer, one of the first vloggers on YouTube. People actually thought she was a real person but she is just an actress that played a character named "Bree" on LonelyGirl15. The reason she left the show is because she was 0ffered another job and couldn't do both at the same time. From then on, she had appeared on many other web shows, etc.. Whew! Well, I finally had the chance to put up another behind the video. I was just sorta giving myself time and everything was pretty rushed. :P But here goes another behind the video called "Behind Emo Dino." I had added a few details on this video but not so much. The character just evolved during the emo trend around 2 years ago or so?

What people didn't get much about this video was, there was a lesson to it towards the end. How people should be there to cheer up sad, and depressive people. And that was towards the 5th episode called "Cheer Up 2." Anyway, hope you guys enjoy this one. I had created him a logo in 2007 but I never got a chance to use it. I'm also not sure if he will ever return this season or so. We shall see as we go. If you guys didn't know, my characters usually interact with each other if not in the same episode. Some of them have their own series and sometimes may interact with each other.

The BlogTV Sessions

Hello all! I just wanted to quickly write how nice my BlogTV sessions turnout. From the very beginning, it has connected all these wonderful people and it's even great to hear that people look forward to it especially when I'm doing a show. It's a place where I really want to promote positivity and to connect more with a lot of you. It's a place where we can converse about random things, dance, tech talk (haha), play games, and just laugh! I know we had to kick out a lot of the baddies but we all know they're everywhere.

Anyway, I just wanted to thank you sincerely for actually appreciating those moments some of you were in there. Believe me, everytime I host the show I get scared inside and ponder if you guys will ever get bored and what not. But I have already heard from a lot of you that you guys really enjoy it etc.. Just many apologies that I can't always do it every Friday like most parts last year. I believe I started doing this when the trend was still going on in 2008. Anyway, just a quick rant about BlogTV and a deep and grateful THANK YOU! Hopefully I can start up another one soon. I will let you know.... :)

New Season & Playlist

Truly crazy how the season goes by quick. I usually like to re-design my YouTube page for each season so I came up with the red logo for spring. Since I haven't put up many videos for this season yet, I just left the "New Season" word in the center of the logo.

Anyway, a lot of people have inquired on me creating a playlist for the videos. Just wanted to let everyone know that I had organized all the videos in a playlist format. This way you can easily navigate and find the connection to some of the series. For instance, once you finish part I of the video, where is part II? hehe. The good thing about this is once you click on the playlist the next episode will automatically go on to the next. I know this is like a 1st grader type of tutorial. But this is generally for all those that are still confused since YT always changes their layout and things. Grrrrrrrrrr...

Questionnable Characters this season:

As I went on with the season, I had introduce varieties of characters who may have sent out positive messages to everybody. For Dino, he was a comical, depressive, character who in the end started becoming happy by a massive support of online friends. Shastah has sent out positive messages to everyone by singing about "Love" (Lohv) for the video. Dude, is just quite a character with his animated self brings happiness to people just because he is naturally hyper. Negativity isn't necessarily a positive character but he is a reminder of why people should be more happy and stay on the plus side of life.

If these guys are to return this season, I may have to begin brainstorming and writing the stories for these characters. I may put up a temporary poll so you guys can vote if they should come back this season.

The Sleepover series has been in hiatus as well. I've been trying to bring back the girls for another installment of Sleepover but these girls are super busy with school, graduating, entering college.. etc.. I will definitely get them all back once there's an open schedule that everyone can agree on. The TFS Series (The Filipino Soap) will continue on as I keep writing the ideas. I guess that's all my rant for now. 'Til then.. :D

Update & MAC

Hey guys!! Woo hoo! I finally got my new Macbook Pro! :) I know for sure graphic designers need these. I think the timing was just perfect. Anyway, I am still trying to learn the tricks and the apps and all that good stuff. I hear it is very user friendly. The only thing I found out about this awesome device is that it doesn't play Sony videos unless converted to MP4 or Quicktime. Makes sense for Quicktime since it is an Apple product. So looks like it'll take a while for me to learn in converting my future vids to MP4 and such. I will still be editing on my PC. :P Sony Vegas usually doesn't have a MAC version but they have Final Cut Pro. Makes me wonder when I'll actually learn to use that program. I'm hoping fast and soon. ^_^ I'm just really excited on using it already.

At the moment also, I have been looking everywhere for visual effects. My best bet for now will be Adobe After Effects. I'm just thankful that Adobe products has a MAC version. Prior to that, I've been looking for vocational art schools that teaches visual effects. I believe most art institutions have online classes so I will research on more for that. My good friend recently gave me a graphics tablet for christmas. I barely started using it until last night. Takes some time in getting used to but I am already loving the outcome of it.

As for creating media (videos.) Looks like I'm trying to set myself for the right time in getting back into it again. I have a collab video in pending so I will force myself to finish that by tomorrow so it'll be out by Saturday. Whew!! Need so much to take care of. Anyway, I'm sure that goes for everybody. Everyone is busy... Alright readers, for those few, those are my current update. Be writing again soon. :)

Behind The Video - It's Christmas

Hi guys! Ok so I finally had the time to put up another Behind The Video. hehe.. This one is from my 1st Christmas video called, "It's Christmas." It's basically a parody of one of those infommercials trying to sell you a CD of some sort. All singing is exaggerated and of course, it's just for fun! :) I believe this video is over 2 years old. Wow! It has been that long really? Even things have changed for YouTube with it's screen format and great video quality.

It was really fun doing this video. I didn't really get to see the behind the scenes of this until now. I was cracking up on how goofy I was before the production began. Anyway, hope you guys enjoy this Behind The Video as much as I did for "It's Christmas."

Hey guys! I was finally able to upload another Behind The Video. This is a video I did sometime last year. It's called "Jitteroo." The idea behind it came for my love of coffee. Haha! I thought of exaggerating it a little more by adding jitters to the effect of the coffee. Since that's what happens most case when you drink or drink too much coffee. Only a bit more exaggerated.

During that time, I was limited to ideas but the creative flow just started pushing in so I had ideas on people studying, working, working out and trying to keep themselves awake or hyped up.

Hiatus

Hey guys. Due to some personal work and development, I'm in Hiatus status. There has been so many things running in my mind. I'm also debating whether to create a new comedic media on YouTube or start Vlog #6 since the new season has caught up to me. I've been thinking about all of you and hopefully I'll be able to produce more videos for you guys real soon.

As many of you know, there are tragic events in the Philippines, American Samoa, and other parts of the world. I have been thinking deeply about those. What they can use of us now are prayers and support. There are also a variety of fundraisers all over to support our fellow people in the Philippines and other parts of the world. I'll be updating everyone more often and hopefully to have a serious Vlog soon. Until then... I miss you all!

Because let's be honest, everything is so much funnier when that Pinoy accent and sentimentality, and those familiar teleserye-like tagalog phrases all come forth. It really doesn't get much better than a dramatically heated fight between rivals spoken entirely in Tag-lish.

Tumawa ka na! Translacion: These videos are hilarious, so laugh already! (not a direct translation). They so brilliantly capture the smallest intricacies of what makes Pilipino culture and media so humorous and unique - especially for those who might normally watch such dramas with fanatically straight faces (although I've always laughed regardless, sorry). All I know is, by the end of this drama, I was crying too... with tears of laughter. And for those of you who have any sort of experience with Pilipino TV, you will be cry-laughing as well while also continually yelling 'SO TRUE!' at the screen. And if somehow you manage to not even crack a smile after watching these videos, well then...*Slap*"

Hi everyone! It's been so long since I have written here on my blog site. As you know, our personal lives can get in the way and we have priorities to take care of so we have to do what we have to do. Anyway, I wanted to share to you guys how moved and inspired I am lately. I know film making takes so much and it's such a big production but I have a lot pending and my mind is just full of creativity flowing. ^_^ We should always celebrate the Gift of Creativity.

Right now, I am still currently working on the Mini YouTube Gathering I had thrown on the 11th of July. I'm trying to find ways on how I'll be presenting that video. I'm probably going to just make it simple and presentable. I'm hoping to put that out real soon. Also, I've been working with a lot of collaborators. Like I had mentioned before, I wanted to do collaborations with different people this season and it's really exciting to have them participate on my videos. I can't wait to put them up! =D I wanted to let you all know how excited I am in working on these upcoming projects!

By the way, this September, I have an interview coming up for this internet web show and I'm really psyched about that. I'll give more details later on. During that moment, anyone can participate and call during that interview. There's still so much editing to do for Behind The Videos. I will definitely work on them soon and put them up on www.youtube.com/ItsCreativeSoul. With all these haps, we always have to do one thing at a time. Keep yourselves stress free and enjoy life guys! New Season, New Videos

Hi guys. At this moment I have been focusing on the new forthcoming videos. I've been preparing costumes, characters, and rebuilding sets that didn't push through last season. This season I've been also planning on doing collaborations with different people. Never thought It'd be challenging especially having new people involved in your videos. I've been getting ideas in my head and scribbling down ideas for collaborations. We'll see how this whole thing goes.

The current "TFS - The Filipino Soap video got lots of feedback and I'm possibly continuing the series later on. Right now I'm just balancing everything that I do with work, personal life, etc..

Behind The Video - Devozione and Negativity

Hey guys! I had these clips for a while on my Behind The Videos YouTube site on http://www.youtube.com/ItsCreativeSoul. Thought I'd also share that here on my blog since this is about Behind The Scenes and Extras. These are original Behind The Videos for Devozione and Negativity found on my original channel at: http://www.youtube.com/xcreativexsoulx.

The story of Devozione began when I got inspired by the Gucci cologne commercial as well as other brand name perfumes. Devozione means Devotion in italian.

The inspiration for it is for devotion to our Lord. The charm around the cologne it is actually a rosary my Aunt got me from Italy. I wanted it to be a subliminal message for those who understand what it's possibly about.

The idea of Negativity comes from our negative thoughts that come through our mind. I had this interpretation of putting negativity in human form. I wanted to show everyone what it does to us and I know people can relate and understand as we go along the video. When it arrives we usually try to shove the thoughts away. And I wanted to do a meaningful music video with a lil' bit of comedy.

The inspiration for the make-up came from Silent Hill. The nurses had veins sort of popping out so I designed negativity to be this way. Ideal look has to be freaky since negativity is bad and nobody wants it around so that's where that whole idea came from.

Hey guys! Once again I had configured the settings to make my widescreen better without the black borders. Although the black borders were nice, I realized that I still wanted that full widescreen look. My friend Archie, Gasang1 on YouTube gave me a great source in order to upload my vids in High Definition with the right size for widescreen. I went on many tutorials on YouTube but didn't get exactly how I want my videos to be until now. I used this screen shot from my editor on how my 4 characters may look once It's uploaded on YouTube:

New Year, New Logo

Happy New Year everyone! Hope everyone's having a great start this new year. Since It's another fresh beginning, I finally decided to change the xcreativexsoulx logo for this new year. I found that my old one was really too plain and just letters typed at once with x's thrown in the beginning, middle, and end which makes it less creative. I felt this new logo is a reflection of who I really am. Basically just changed the "R" and the "O" yet you can see a big difference. Me representing the letter "I" is just temporary. Again, just for artistic and design purposes. =D But I'm really loving this new logo. Hopefully one day I'll have mugs made and T-shirts with varieties of design. At this moment, still waiting it out. It'll be great once that really comes out. I was going to do a behind the video on the new logo but that may or may not happen depending on time and mood. Hello everyone. I just thought about vlogging/blogging about Tiredness. I know each and everyone of us have our lives and we have to get things done but I thought hey, I can also put a little positivity about being tired. Ok, weird right? But I guess what I was trying to put out here is that we may be tired but we can't confess/say or claim it all the time. It may be a little hard for others to interpret what I'm trying to say but, usually when we complain about everyday life that's how It's going to be throughout our lives if we keep thinking the same thing. Wowo-Wide Screen

Wow! Can you believe that YouTube finally went widescreen? It's really funny how things just work out. I recently bought an HD Widescreen Camera. It's a Sony HDR-SR11. I seriously wasn't planning on buying a camera guys! It's something I really can't afford at the moment. But things just really works out unplanned. I was currently asked to do a video gig for a concert. So I agreed to the proposal and the money I got from that gig of course went to the new camera I got. This is just too awesome guys! It was perfect timing that I got the new widescreen camera with the widescreen presented to everyone on YouTube.

It took me a while to figure out the new setting for widescreen. I uploaded test videos many times on YouTube and never got the result I wanted. It was driving me nuts! But thank God I was able to configure the setting I wanted. It still has small black bars around the video but I like it that way. I didn't want the whole video to fill up the screen. I actually like the idea of small borders so things just went real nice. The very first widescreen video I uploaded to my xCREATiVExSOULx account on YouTube is "Considering." A new episode about my character Dino attending a Thanksgiving party!

Ok, for those of you who care and wonder.. hehe. I have been ultimately busy with projects. What else is new right? hehe. Anyway, It's a really great thing considering these projects can help me earn a little bit. I know It's been crazy. So as far as doing YouTube videos and collabs it is quite impossible at the moment unless if I'm able to squeeze another video in. I used to be able to do it within 2 weeks before so we'll see what's up.

Here goes another video update from me. Note that I am tired in this video hence the look. hehe. And I didn't really have good lighting since I have to replace the bulb in my studio light. haha..

What I've Been Up To

Hey guys! If you ever wondered what's been goin' on with me, let alone a hectic schedule is because I was a part of a big production held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles this past weekend.

The Shrine is where they usually have big events such as the Emmy Awards, Oscars, Concerts, etc.. This event is called, "Dolphy at 80!" For some of you who don't know who that is. He is the legendary comedian from the Philippines. He had a concert this past Saturday, October 11, 2008. It was sponsored by NuVision and McFadden & McFadden. NuVision is the company who started the very first Filipino American Visionary Awards held last March. NuVision teamed up with McFadden & McFadden to produce this show.

The night of October 9th 2008 was the press conference held at Celebrity Center in Hollywood, CA. Different press' such as journalist, photographers, and reporters were there. It was the night where I actually experienced being on the red carpet. haha. It was just really interesting and weird at the same time. But it was a fun and a great experience! I watched a few talented artists on stage. The performers were Stephanie Reese, Ava Johnson, Liezl, and others. The food was really great that night and I was able to watch everyone being interviewed at the press con after.

The day of the show was really hectic. Everyone was just running around setting up and I still had to get dressed when I got there. As I was searching for a good dressing room, I passed Apl.De.Ap from Black Eyed Peas in one of the rooms. There were other performers in different rooms as well as hair dressers and make-up artists. I saw Ramiele Malubay from American Idol later that night. Overall, the show turned out real.

BlogTV Wackiness!

Hey everyone! Last night was a very interesting night to where I was able to co-host with several people from YouTube on BlogTV. I feel that It's a really great way to connect deeper aside from the chats! I had Pauline (Pinayrules), Caryn(Carynakacare), Archie(gasang1), Eman(Aznconquerer) and friends Leo and Michael, Reggie (regisor94), and Pedro (iSlusho) co-hosts with me. :)

There were other people there also from the beginning like, Natztheflip, Bakitwhy, Infused08, markizhere, darrelld23, and much more...

Sleepover Live:
I finally had the chance to have the girls with me, my cousin Angela(Leila), and sister, Chloe(Emma). We did a short segment on Sleepover live. I just thought It'll be interesting to bring all of the characters live so that's what we did. My cousin Sarah(Alaura) couldn't make it so we just did what we can. hahaha! I obviously didn't shave my stache here since I had to have it for an upcoming video. It may be loud too since I had the mic really close to my mouth. haha!

September 23 Birthday

I just wanted to Thank each and everyone of you who greeted me on my Birthday! Yay! I am very blessed to have met all of you guys! Seriously. The whole party actually started on Friday, the 19th of September. Pauline (Pinayrules on YouTube), had gathered all these wonderful people to do a collaboration video for my Birthday. :) It was such a heart-warming video and I was very very pleased and happy that everyone gave their time to do this just for me. I wouldn't have asked for more. It's really about the people that's there for you. There's so many of you guys! I'm still a little overwhelmed thanking everyone at once. It gets really crazy! Now I know how that really feels.

My actual birthday, the 23rd, I had a slight surprise party in the office. My Aunt bought me cake with noodles known as "pancit" from a place called "Red Ribbon." It's a Filipino type bakery where they have cakes, noodles, empanadas, etc.. That night I had prepared for another BlogTV show to where I can once again connect with everyone and party! I had a great time guys! Thanks for making my birthday a really really special one. My dear friend Caryn (carynakacare on YouTube) made this for me. She's such a sweetheart!!! She actually took the time to get these flowers, wrote the note, and prepared it for me.

Antar made me this really awesome graphic design birthday card! He had asked me what planet I liked and I said Neptune. The reason for me choosing that planet is because I hear it influences poetry, music, photography, and the arts. hehe.. Not taking it literally but I just like It's meaning. I actually gave myself time to research what these planets represent just for fun. Google is the key.

I am so blessed and thankful for having all these wonderful people in my life. I had a really incredible birthday! I love all of you.

First BlogTV show

Hey guys! I finally survived my very first BlogTV show! I probably had 12+ people that came last night. It was a very intimate and a cool experience. I loved being able to talk to everybody and bond. You have that better connection and It's just really nice! But, down side is I had a few problems with the camera. It was always turning gray on me. So we had to merge to Slusho's show on his BlogTV. Recently, I was asked to do an interview for the June issue of Pinoy Ads. This is a Filipino news magazine from the east coast. With Mary Grace's generosity, she has given me an opportunity to have an interview for their news magazine. It's very flattering and I thank her and her Father for this chance. I sent her the interview questions on May 18, 2008 and the news magazine Pinoy Ads was released in June with the article covering me. ^_^ It's just funny to me still because, I'm just an average person and I'm not used to being exposed. Thought I'd share with all of you the interview. Really huge THANK YOU to Mary Grace Sunga and her Father for covering me. These are the interview questions:

1. Why do you prefer to go by Kits? Is there a special meaning behind it? If so, what?

Kits is actually my nickname since I was a baby. It’s so Filipino. It’s actually Kitoy. I don’t even remember how I got Kits from Kitoy. You know how Filipinos give funny nicknames.

2. Where did you grow up? Can you speak/understand/read/write Tagalog or any other Filipino dialects?

I actually grew up in the Philippines. Came here when I was 11. I can still understand/speak/read and maybe write a little Tagalog. Tagalog can be so deep sometimes though. Tagalog is my only other language other than English.

3. You said you choreograph ethnic dances for PCN… What is PCN exactly? How do you come up with your ideas for the choreography? Any background education (lessons, college majors/minors, etc) on it?

Funny story, I really wasn’t interested in Filipino dances until I got involved in it. PCN is an acronym for Pilipino Cultural Night. Every spring, different colleges and high schools have PCNs here in California. Choreography ideas, I get from seeing other dance troupes, and just sort of combine them altogether to make my own. And I ask experts in that field of the arts. It’s just my hobby, and I still have a lot to learn about it since every dance is very detailed and true to its tribe.

4. Who has inspired you to start creating videos for YouTube? How has their inspiration developed your interest in filming?

I always loved film making since I was a kid. I love movies and seeing the “behind the scenes.” There’s always that excitement seeing the sets and how films are done. I use to make little shows and movies with my cousins. As of inspiration to create YouTube videos, Christine Gambito (a.k.a. HappySlip) has shown the possibility of creating your art and sharing it to the world. And how you can just reach out to many that way.

5. What kind(s) of camera(s) did you start with? What do you use now?

I began with one those huge Sony video cameras my Uncle had then. Then later on, I got my own Sony video camera that I used for events and now for YouTube. As of now, I’m using Sony DCR-TRV350 as my actual video camera.

6. What editing program do you use? Have you done anything to expand your knowledge of the use of the program (read books, etc) ?

I am using Sony Vegas for video editing. It’s funny, the manual that came with it doesn’t help too much at all. I got ideas from YouTube and just through experimenting. Later discovering I can incorporate my graphic design like doing logos for my videos like “Idea Green” and “Undep.”

7.Where do you get your ideas for your videos? What theme do you think your videos revolve around (blogs, Filipino/Fil-Am culture, love stories, etc)?

My ideas usually revolve around different inspirations, and some are from Saturday Night Live. I was a fan of SNL during the 90’s. My videos are usually random themes. I categorize them to Regular Vlogs, Action Vlogs, Series, and Commercials, and possibly other things that I come up with. A Filipino video may be out sometime later. It’s in the works for now.

8. How long have you been making videos? What audience reaction were you expecting to get from the videos when you first started?

I joined YouTube in 2006 as a viewer. I attempted to do my first Vlog in July of 2007. After watching it I felt a little embarrassed cause it was different. I already expected that people would either love or hate my videos. I was anxious about that whole thing at first. But I learned that you just have to keep doing what you love doing.

9. Do you think you're evolving in your knowledge or style every time you have a new video come out? How?

When I do get a new idea, I write it out, and then later on the idea changes when a new one comes in. So sometimes the original video idea may change based on what’s come up. Then I mix them up all of a sudden. And trying out different styles are great. Like for the 1st season videos. You notice they’re all sepia toned.

10. Do you feel any pressure to create videos? How does it feel having over a thousand subscribers?

I would have to say yes. I know there are a bunch of viewers out there waiting. My videos span to like about 1 to 2 weeks. 3rd week will be the latest to post a video. For subscribers, I’m just very thankful that a lot of people actually appreciate the things that I do and put out. Sometimes, you know that people just accept you for who you are and the kind of things you like to share.

11. Do you tend to read all the comments and messages you receive? What has been the best or most memorable for you? What has been the funniest or weirdest?

Yes, I’m still able to catch up to all of them. I like to read and respond to the ones I can. I want to make sure that I can reach out to all the viewers and that I am there for them. =D The most memorable comment is when one of my viewers said I’m always inspiring. There are a lot of uplifting comments that I do appreciate, and it let’s me know the Lord uses us as instruments to reach out to other people. The funniest comment was from someone who freaked out cause I remembered their name and that I commented their video. And the weirdest, someone made rude racial remarks.

12. If you woke up the next day and found out that your YouTube days no longer existed, what would you be doing instead to take place of your time spent doing those videos? (don't take it personally haha ..)

I believe that the Lord always has a purpose for everyone. If it doesn’t work out for me, then I know that he has better things planned since our lives are already written by Him. You can’t change your destiny. =]

13. Which video (or character), that you have done so far, is your favorite? Why?

This is funny but Riana is the one that cracks me up! It’s because she’s so exaggerated and manly looking. And her character itself is already funny naturally once she pops on screen.

14. What do you do with your personal time?

Personal time, I like spending time with family and friends, going to the beach, relaxing and having Starbucks, playing video games, indulging in junk food, relaxing to jazz music and other relaxing music, and praying.

15. How would you describe yourself? Personality and film making wise? Strengths? Weaknesses?

I’m a mellow person when you meet me. I’m a very shy and serious person. But once I’m comfortable, I can just be myself and mess around and try to make you laugh. And in my videos, the camera just tends to change me and make me comfortable. That’s why I’m able to act out these different characters and just be goofy. Strengths… When I’m inspired I’m really pumped up and ready to entertain, I just become positive and happy. Weakness… There goes “Negativity.” That’s why I created that video. Just a little behind the scene story for you. Because sometimes, I really do feel down just like others do.

16. Do you have any goals that you would like to achieve out of creating YouTube videos? Where do you see yourself in a year, with YouTube and life itself?

My goal is pretty much to master the different and many ways of editing and videography. And to also grasp many people so I can share my work and hopefully inspire them and make them happy. In a year, I hopefully will have more viewers. And I’ll probably be working in a big company for graphic and web design. *Crosses Fingers* But I really have this burning passion to do outreach in any part of the world. I want to help others in need.
